Windows Application Automation Developer
Are you an experienced Windows Application Professional with excellent knowledge of Control-M batch scheduling. If so our client a specialist in banking and financial service business process outsourcing are interested to hear from you. Our client provides UK domestic cheque clearing and associated services such as debit/credit outclearing and fraud detection to over 80% of the financial markets.

Working as part of a small team of Automation Developers, the Windows Application Automation Developer will be responsible for design and development of solutions to support the Windows applications including Control-M scheduling, internal/external file transfer and archiving solutions. The role will support the end to end development and deployment process working with other business areas across all environments to meet the organisations change projects.

Responsibilities will include; building and batching schedules in Control-M, producing design documentation, working through project requirements, providing 3rd line support within agreed problem management and service assurance targets, maintaining and developing application development and deployment processes and standards and leading improvement activities or initiatives with focus on service quality and cost reduction. 

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Excellent knowledge  and experience of Control-M batch scheduling
  • Windows batch scripting using MS-DOS, VBScript & Powershell
  • Previous software development or computer operations knowledge in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Confident communication skills and strong team working; collaboration is key in this role
  • Good written and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Project Management, Systems Development and Release Lifecycle methodology
  • Good skills in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent root cause analysis & problem solving skills
  • Experience of Connect: Direct file transfer
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server
